Animal Wisdom: On Growing Older

Wow oh Wow...if I thought love was a hot topic, eliciting mind-blowing responses from the animals, it might just pale in comparison to the overwhelming response I've received when I asked about the topic of aging.Rhino, goat, horse, zebra, gorilla, lion, hippo, sheep, giraffe, crow, elephant, deer, alligator, chimpanzee, the bird kingdom as a whole and individually, crow and robin, alligator and panda have already shared their incredible insights....and I haven't even asked our domestic partners yet!
Clearly, we humans have gotten the process of growing "older" all wrong. And we have the power to change the way we see ourselves and, as a result, alter our physical, mental, emotional and spiritual experience of the second half of life. Here is the gorilla's contribution:
"Your illnesses that you associate with aging are illnesses of the mind. We cannot impress this upon you enough. Thoughts of self-limitation and being 'too old' are toxic and crippling. We NEVER think this way! We want so very much to get through to you humans that you have the power to change the reality of your body, but this takes disciplining your beliefs. Some - a few of you - understand this. Direct others to them.
Those who are vital, clear of mind and flexible of body HAVE CHOSEN THEIR BELIEFS AND THEN THE BRAIN AND THE BODY FOLLOW SUIT. It is not pills or supplements or fancy programs that do this for you. IT IS ABOUT FLIPPING YOUR PERSPECTIVE AND IT MUST BE DONE EVERY SINGLE DAY. You have the power to do this and to shed the shackles of your society's obsession with youth:
Go back to focusing on what you can each bring to the world and what beauty you can see within yourselves and others. This will reorient you to the sweet magic of what really matters in life.
